  • Overview

    ITC Defense is seeking a Scrum Master to plan and manage our development sprints and product releases, while aiding in addressing needs and resolving roadblocks identified by the development team. Compensation commensurate with experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage day-to-day technical activities and influence team members to leverage, follow and support agile software development practices
    • Interface with Product Owner/Business Analyst and key stakeholders in Project Management, QA and Technology Operations to ensure high quality delivery of software projects on time and in budget
    • Work with Software Manager and Product Owner/Business Analyst to provide development sizings & cost analysis estimates
    • Ensure the coordination of individual team deliverables are synchronized as necessary to achieve product releases
    • Prepare for and facilitate daily scrum meetings, biweekly sprint planning, review, retrospective, backlog refinement meetings, and planning poker sessions for the technical team
    • Facilitate and prepare for external end-of-sprint demonstrations
    • Create, maintain, and organize backlog of features, epics, stories, and tasks in JIRA
    • Create, maintain, and execute release planning using team capacity and skill set information
    • Compile, analyze, and present statistics about time estimation accuracy, team velocity, and burn down rate to manage each sprint
    • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
    • Manage ISO 9001:2015 Design process with eye on CMMI Level 3 certification

    Qualifications

    • Experienced Scrum Master with 5+ years leading a software development team that is applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
    • Scrum Alliance CSM required, plus CSPO preferred
    • Experience using Agile backlog management tool(s), preferably JIRA
    • Experience working independently and with geographically disperse teams
    • Familiar with Waterfall Development approach
    • ISO 9001 or CMMI experience preferred
    • U.S. Government contract experience a plus
    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field a plus
