    ITC Defense is seeking an HR Specialist to support our headquarters in Arlington, VA. We are on the hunt for an HR Rockstar to support our team as we continue to expand our business across the defense industry.

    Responsibilities

    HR Specialist responsibilities include:



    • Preparing and processing new hire and termination paperwork

    • Brainstorming with management to update company HR policies, procedures, and programs

    • Organizing, maintaining, and safeguarding personnel records

    • Researches, assists, and advises employees on HR questions

    • Maintaining and updating employee handbook, company training, and employee access portals

    • Updates Compliance Plan with dates of completion for employees, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants

    • Working with security team to issue annual security briefs and clearance adjudication

    • Remains current with the company’s organizational structure, personnel policies, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices

    • Participates in program support and other duties as required


    Recruiting Efforts include:



    • Following company recruiting process from cradle to grave and suggest edits or improvements as needed

    • Editing and posting vacancy announcements to recruiting system and job boards

    • Making initial contact with candidate to gauge company fit and level of interest in positions, provides feedback to hiring manager

    • Developing and maintaining candidate databases

    • Maintaining a high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years of experience in related field

    • 5-8 years of progressive experience within HR Compliance and Technical Recruiting

    • Experience identifying and resolving issues independently – solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment

    • Detail oriented with strong organization skills and exceptional attention to detail

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in influencing decision makers as well as setting and managing expectations

    • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws/regulations and familiarity with I-9, background check, wage and hour, EEO and other policies, procedures, and process processes, desired.
