Overview

ITC Defense requires a mid-level systems engineer for full-time, direct support to the system element test division of the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) System Engineering and Integration Directorate (GME) of the GMD Joint Program Office (JPO).  Candidate will support the element test lead in oversight of all system engineering functions related to GMD Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) element test.

Responsibilities

  • Develop GMD test objectives and test requirements for Element Tests
  • Support development of test requirements, analysis, and element test configurations that enable GMD to achieve all HWIL element test objectives
  • Develop and maintain sufficient understanding of the GMD system and the functions of the GMD components to support technical discussion related to HWIL element testing 
  • Support all BMDS executive element test reviews and meetings (requirements, test readiness and analysis) to include briefing development, briefing review and pre-briefs to GM management
  • Coordinate with Prime Contractor system analysis team on emerging results during element test execution with focus on identifying and elevating critical issues to GME management
  • Support development and review of element test content in Integrated Master Test Plan (IMTP)
  • Support GM Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) item reviews
  • Support the development of technical requirements documents
  • Support GMD HWIL element test risk management
  • Assist with GM Prime Contractor and test execution oversight
  • Assist with GMD HWIL lab oversight
  • Prepare technical briefings, executive summaries and activity reports as required

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • 5-9 Years of Experience in Missile Defense, or less if direct GMD experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Executive-level skills with demonstrated ability to anticipate customer requirements and needs
  • Ability to work with senior-level leaders and support personnel to respond to, plan for, and meet quick-response requests and facilitate execution of requests with higher organizational elements
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision to produce consistently exceptional work 
  • Ability to respond to routine and high-priority customer requests in a timely, efficient, and friendly fashion
  • Ability to maintain smooth working relationships with individuals and groups at various levels of authority and responsibility within and outside the organization
  • Ability to formulate and resolve issues
  • Ability to organize large quantities of diverse data into concise and useful information
  • Proficiency in oral and written communications and demonstrated ability to prepare and present briefings to leadership
  • Proficiency in preparing and reporting technical information to peers and executive managers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced, high stress environment
